On the 16th of November, 2015 the mission of Republic of Cuba visited Kursk State Medical University. The participants were counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in the Russian Federation Natasha Diaz Aguilera, a specialist in vascular surgery, the senior researcher of the University of Medicine in Matanzas, a titular member of the Cuban Society of Angiology and Vascular Surgery, a member of the International Union Angiology professor Aristides Garcia Herrero, professor of the University of Havana and Dr. Carmen Costa.
The guests arrived in KSMU in order to establish academic and cultural relations, as well as get acquainted the scientists of the university with the results in the treatment of patients with diabetic foot syndrome using innovative drug developed by Cuban scientists.
The Vice-rector for Continuous Education and International Cooperation I.G. Komissinskaya and the Head of the Administration for International Relations Yu.Sh. Iobidze met the guests at the university. The Cuban delegation visited the simulation centers of KSMU, where students get practical skills and also the history museum.
According to the results, we were proposed to carry out in practice an academic exchange of students, carrying common research, training of the teachers of KSMU in Cuba to master advanced medical technologies.
