Republic Day of India

Every year on the 26th of January India celebrates a national holiday — Republic day. This is the day when in 1950 the status of a British dominion was abolished, republic was proclaimed and constitution was adopted.

On the 26th of January, 2017 in the events hall of the hostel No 6 there was the celebration of the Republic day of India.

Present at the event were the staff members of the Administration for international relations and students from India.

The Head of the Administration for international relations Yu.Sh. Iobidze congratulated the foreign students on the Republic day of India, wished health, happiness and well-being to all the Indian nation, peace and prosperity to the country.

The students prepared colourful dance performances and national treats for the guests.

The atmosphere of the holiday was downhome and warm.

Running various ethnocultural events with the foreign students promotes more successful adaptation of the foreign citizens to the social and cultural conditions of living and studying in Russia, it encourages shaping and development of tolerant attitude to the representatives of different countries of the world, prevention of ethnic discord and xenophobia manifestations.
