Kuala Lumpur: On 11 March 2017 (Saturday), Kursk State Medical University (KSMU) held a Representative Office launching ceremony and celebrated the memorable KSMU graduates at Parkroyal Kuala Lumpur. This is the 1st ever Russia university who launched a Representative Office in Malaysia. This event capture more than 300 guest which includes the VIPs, KSMU Alumni Malaysia, family and friends.
Kursk State Medical University was established on the 9th of February 1935. Over the past years, KSMU has been one of the universities that has contributed in improving the teaching process of the organization, developed its scientific potential and practical health care as well as reinforcing its material and technical base.
KSMU was the first among the medical higher institutions in Russia to start teaching in English medium. There are more than 30000 medical students have graduated as qualified medical practitioners and currently it has 9000 students from 50 countries.
Since year 1997, more than 1000 Malaysians are graduated as physician and working in Malaysia either in government sector or private sector. Today, KSMU have more than 550 Malaysian students are pursuing their medical study in Kursk State Medical University, Russia.
This launching ceremony was officiated by Prof Lazarenko Viktor Anatolyevich, the Rector of KSMU also member of Kursk Regional “DUMA”, together with Yang Berbahagia Dato’ Seri Utama Dr. S. Samy Vellu, Special envoy to India and South Asia on infrastructure; Mr. Zainal Bin Abdul Rahman, The Senior Deputy of Regional Establishment & Supply Chain Management Division (MIDA); Mr Alexander Gulko, Counsellor of Embassy of Russia, the director of the Russian Centre of Science and Culture; Mr Pavel Seskanov, Counsellor of Embassy of Russian Federation with the witness of Mr. Roslan Bin Khairuddin, Student Affairs Officer of Yayasan Sabah (KL Branch); Dato’ Maran A.K. Kannan, Group Managing Director of Nirwana Education Group; Prof. Sr. Dr. Mohaizi Mohamad, President of Geomatika University College; Mr. Kanoo Pillai, Managing Director of MGM Enterprise; Mr. James Raj of Regent International School; Dato’ Palaniappan, Director of Golden Dragon Group of Company Malaysia; Ms. Suganthy K. Manicam, Assistant Manager of Malaysia Community & Education Foundation (MCEF); Prof. Dr. Aruna Gopinath, President of AMMA Foundation; Mr. G. Satheesan, Vice President of AMMA Foundation.
In conjunction with the launching, the Alumni of KSMU Malaysia also celebrated the newly graduates of Winter batch 2017 in honoring their family that unable to attend their graduation ceremony in Kursk, Russia.
