Sri Lankan Cultural Day

On the 1st of April, 2017 a concert dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Russian Federation and the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka took place at the Kursk state medical university.

Present at the event were the Rectorate Advisor, Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka in Kursk Chahine M.T., the Head of the Administration for International Relations Yu.Sh. Iobidze, the Dean of the International Faculty Yu.D. Lyashev, the vice-deans of the International Faculty, the employees of the Administration for International Relations, teachers and students.

Traditionally the concert was opened with the national Sri Lankan dances which enchanted the audience with their beauty, vividness and ringing of the costumes.

The program featured items performed together with the Brazilian, Malaysian, Indian and Nigerian students. The foreign students were particularly pleased by the item performed by the Russian folk song ensemble “Sedmitsa”.

At the end of the event all those who wished could take pictures in front of the exotic decorations, which the Sri Lankan students had made with their own hands.
