On the 29th of June, 2017 Kursk state medical university was visited by the delegation of the Ministry of health of the Republic of Maldives consisting of the Minister of health Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim, the Deputy Minister Mohamed Rafeeq Hassan and the Vice-Chairman of the governing board of Maldives business school Abdulla Waheed.
During the visit the delegation of Maldives took part in the meeting with the rector of KSMU, honored physician of the Russian Federation, Deputy of the Kursk Regional Duma, Doctor of Medicine, professor V.A. Lazarenko. The head of protocol department of the Administration’s committee of Kursk region at development of external relations E.T. Pravdina, the vice-rector for educational activities and general affairs professor P.V. Kalutsky, the vice-rector for continuous education and international cooperation professor I.G. Komissinskaya, the vice-rector for research and innovation development professor P.V. Tkachenko, the vice-rector for clinical work and interaction with the clinical bases professor I.G. Khmelevskaya, the vice-rector for educational work, social development and public relations associate professor T.A. Shulgina, the dean of the international faculty Yu. D. Lyashev, the Honorary Consul of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka in Kursk, the Rectorate advisor M.T. Chahine and the head of the administration for international relations Yu. Sh. Iobidze also participated in the meeting.
There were discussed questions about development of cooperation in the sphere of education and public health between the university and the Republic of Maldives. The Maldives delegation was interested in expansion possibility of KSMU learning services’ export to Maldives: professional retraining and advanced training of Maldives doctors in KSMU, students’ traineeship in Maldives clinics, training of citizens of Maldives in medico-pharmaceutical college. As the result of the meeting the Parties agreed on concluding the cooperation agreement in September, 2017.
During the visit the delegation visited KSMU scientific research institute of genetic and molecular epidemiology, which studies DNA analysis with the use of world innovative technologies.
The delegation visited classes in Russian language with Maldives students in the pre-university training center for foreign citizens.
In the evening on the 29th of June, 2017 there was organized a meeting of the representatives of the delegation with the students from Maldives, where they discussed education and living conditions of the students in KSMU. At the present time 18 citizens of Maldives study in KSMU.
