Indian National Holiday “Navaratri”

The foreign students of the Kursk state medical university celebrated the national religious holiday “Navaratri” on September 30, 2017 in the assembly hall of the hostel № 6.

Navaratri is a Hindu religious holiday. Translated from Sanskrit the word “navaratri” means “nine nights”. In the course of this festival which lasts for ten days and nine nights the Hindus worship the nine female forms of God in Hinduism – Shakti/Devi.

The foreign students from India came all together on that occasion, treated themselves to fruit and sweets, traditional for this holiday, performed folk dances and folk songs.

The holiday was a real success, it went splendidly and once again proved that KSMU is an international educational and cultural centre.
