NATIONAL INDIAN HOLIDAY “HOLI” IN KSMU

Upon an initiative of the Administration of Kursk state medical university and the community of Indian students the national Indian holiday “Holi” took place at the sports ground of the hostel No.6.

Carrying national holidays is a part of the international adaptational program for foreign citizens, studying at Kursk state medical university, aimed at the conservation of their traditions while staying in Russia, the strengthening of friendship and mutual understanding between students of different nationalities and confessions.

Holi is a spring holiday, one of the most important in the Hindu calendar and popular all over the world. Holi is also famous as the festival of colours, celebration of love and the triumph of good over evil.

The foreign students not only from India, but also Malaysia, Sri-Lanka, Brasil, Nigeria, Maldives took part in the festival.

The students got a powerful, positive, energy boost, wet themselves with the colourful liquid, sprinkled with a bright powder. When the holiday came to an end everyone danced together to the national music.
