MEETING OF IMI KSMU FOREIGN STUDENT ACTIVE CORE WITH THE LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS OF KURSK REGION

On August 19, 2020 representatives of the law enforcement officials of Kursk region met with the foreign student active core of International medical institute of Kursk state medical university at the conference hall of KSMU in order to prevent commission of wrongful acts by foreign citizens and clarify the current legislation of the Russian Federation.

The meeting was attended by the vice-rector for continuous education and international cooperation associate professor N.S. Meshcherina, director of the International medical institute M.T. Chahine, deputy head of the Severny police department of the Administration of Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Kursk region R.V. Lobanov, senior criminal investigator of the Centre for Combating Extremism in the Administration of Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Kursk region N.N. Matyukhina.

During the meeting deputy head of the Severny police department of the Administration of Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Kursk region lieutenant-colonel R.V. Lobanov informed about the types of fraud, from which foreign students could possibly suffer, and also made detailed recommendations concerning the avoidance of different fraudulent acts.

Senior criminal investigator of the Centre for Combating Extremism in the Administration of Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Kursk region N.N. Matyukhina gave a speech on the impermissibility of carrying out extremist activity, manifestations of nationalism and xenophobia in the territory of the Russian Federation. In addition, the representatives of the law enforcement officials touched on the issues of foreign student personal safety and the necessity of compliance with rules and standards of public behavior.

The director of the International medical institute M.T. Chahine strongly encouraged foreign students to observe strictly the Russian legislation, the requirements of the university local acts and follow the recommendations of the law enforcement officials.

In conclusion, the vice-rector for continuous education and international cooperation associate professor N.S. Meshcherina pointed up the necessity for wearing face masks and self-isolation.
