CELEBRATION OF SRI LANKAN NEW YEAR AT KSMU

On April 18, 2021 a concert dedicated to the ancient culture of Sri Lanka took place at Kursk State Medical University.

The event was attended by: Deputy Chairperson of the Education Committee of the Kursk Region O.V. Kharseeva, Director of regional budgetary insitution “Regional Tourism Center” O.I. Barkova, Vice-Rector for Continuing Education and International Cooperation – Director of the Institute of Continuing Education, Associate Professor N.S. Meshcherina, Vice-Rector for Educational Work, Social Development and Public Relations Associate Professor A.A. Kuznetsova, Director of the International Medical Institute Associate Professor M.T. Chahine and etc.

The concert was arranged to coincide with the celebration of Sri Lankan New Year. This holiday brings together representatives of various nationalities living on the island of Sri Lanka: the Tamils, Sinhalese, Muslims.

The program of the concert of Sri Lankan national culture was held in a hybrid format: a live broadcast was organized on the university official website, which allowed students, their friends, parents who are not in Kursk to join our friendly family.

The audience enjoyed the natural splendor of the country, got acquainted with its history and modern culture.

The concert of Sri Lankan students became a bright event of the spring. The holiday program brought together representatives of different nationalities. All the best of distant and mysterious Sri Lanka was presented: from fiery traditional dances to modern choreography and instrumental music.
