THE EVENT RED RIBBON FROM THE STUDENTS OF IMI
3rd December 2021

Every year, on December 1, in accordance with the decision of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the decision of the  General Assembly of the UN  adopted in 1988, the World Day against Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) is celebrated.

Students of the International Medical Institute of Kursk State Medical University held an action on the Day of the Fight against AIDS on 01.12.2021. Eduardo Gomez Franca Freitas, Felipe Amaral Martins and Juliana Botion Pavesi, students from Brazil, produced and distributed leaflets with a red ribbon.

The red ribbon is a symbol of understanding of the AIDS problem – it is a symbol of solidarity with those who have been personally affected by the AIDS epidemic: with people living with HIV and AIDS, with their loved ones, relatives and friends.

AIDS is a deadly disease that has claimed the lives of many people: due to stigmatization, lack of treatment methods, knowledge and necessary medicines. World AIDS Day is one of the most important international days aimed at drawing attention to health issues around the world. It is important for all of us not to forget and carry out educational campaigns and commemorative events dedicated to the victims of this terrible disease.
