INTERVIEW WITH THE COORDINATOR OF THE DIRECTIONS: ASSISTANCE TO THE MEDICAL STAFF OF KURSK CITY POLYCLINIC NO. 3 “AND” VACCINATION IN MEGAGRINN “

On the eve of the holiday – Volunteer Day, we continue a series of news about various areas of volunteering at Kursk State Medical University.

Interview with  Elena Nikolaevna Kolesnikova  – a 6th year student of the 6th group of the medical faculty, the Coordinator of the directions “Assistance to the medical staff of the Kursk city polyclinic No. 3” and “MegaGrinn Vaccination”

– Lena, how did you become a coordinator?

– I became one back in May 2020, when there was the first wave of COVID-19.Then I was engaged in the direction of “Delivery of one-time food aid”, and then switched to the direction of the polyclinic.

– What does your direction do?

– My team works with infectious disease doctors, helps with the reception, answers calls at the call center, and handles calls at the telemedicine center. We also help the medical staff at the mobile vaccination station.

– What do you do besides performing coordinating tasks?

– I am a part of one large team of the VOD family “Volunteers-doctors”, in which I am engaged in the direction “Help in medical organizations”. Also, together with the regional coordinator, we are working on the direction “Patronage service” and help the regional department “Red Cross”, and together with the Department of Physical Education, we organized the “Sport medical care” squad.

– What professional qualities have you developed?

– While working as a coordinator, I learned to listen to my colleagues, to perceive their experiences more closely, I help to find solutions to issues that bother them: be it work or personal experiences.
