IN TOUCH WITH VOLUNTEERS

On the eve of the holiday – Volunteer Day, we are launching a series of news about various areas of volunteer activity at Kursk State Medical University.

In order to implement the priority directions of the state youth policy at Kursk State Medical University in 2011, by order of the rector, a Social center was created – the “heart” of KSMU volunteer activity.

When developing the center’s functionality, the needs that were associated with the future directions of the center were taken into account. These include the formation of a system for the promotion of initiative and talented students, their involvement in social practice, ensuring effective socialization, patriotic education, the formation of tolerance, the development of the volunteer (volunteer) movement, the inclusion of young people in social practice, organizes the support of students with disabilities and students with disabilities in the educational space, and more.

Currently, the social center accompanies 30 volunteer groups and 11 social projects that cover medical, socio-psychological, inclusive areas. During the year, the social center conducts seven training programs: the school of student activism “Vector of Success”, the school of social design “Burning Phoenix”, the school of youth personnel reserve, the school of volunteerism “Movement Up”, the school of volunteer tutors, the school of leadership skills “Compass”, the school of scientific activity.

For eight years, the social center has been the organizer of the All-Russian forum “Professionally oriented Volunteering: current state and prospects”. For eight years, a contest of social projects “Burning Phoenix” has been held, the winners of which get the opportunity to implement the project and support in support.

Since the opening of the headquarters of the All-Russian Mutual Aid Campaign #MyPlace on March 20, 2020, 615 days of round-the-clock interaction of the social center with the volunteers of the headquarters have passed. During this period, the Social Center accompanied more than 700 volunteers, issued 189 certificates of participation in voluntary activities in the field of healthcare and 266 certificates of participation in voluntary activities in the field of prevention, diagnosis and treatment of coronavirus infection. 366 tables of reporting data on the activities of volunteers of the headquarters of the All-Russian Mutual Aid Action #MYVMESTE have been prepared, including 134 monitoring reports for submission to the Ministry of Health. More than 500 consultations were held on the selection of volunteer activity bases. To date, round-the-clock interaction with the volunteers of the headquarters continues. With the participation of the social center, over 100 posts have been published on social networks.
