Dear employees, students!
Recently, the epidemic situation of the new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in the Russian Federation has become more or less stable. However, according to scientists’ forecasts and the growing number of cases, we must be ready to meet the new Omicron strain.
Yes, it is possible that mild to moderate cases will prevail. But we must not forget about the elderly, about those who are at risk – against the background of existing chronic diseases, the disease can be difficult in them. Therefore, now is the time to vaccinate for those who have not yet done so for some reason, and to make timely revaccination. Our university has high vaccination rates: 84.7% of students and 86.2% of employees were vaccinated, thus demonstrating high professionalism and active citizenship. We will continue to increase the pace of vaccination and revaccination, comply with recommendations for preventing the spread of the coronavirus infection COVID-19, and continue to carry out awareness-raising activities in order to preserve public health.
From the first days of the pandemic, KSMU has been actively involved in practical work to combat COVID-19 in various areas. Employees and students of KSMU work at medical institutions as medical specialists, trainee doctors and paramedical personnel, and volunteer activity is actively carried out as well. We hope that all the measures taken will help to stop the spread of the infection.
I urge you all to carefully monitor your health and the health of those around you, wear masks, keep distance, try to limit your contacts, not to visit crowded places and gather in large companies.
Only by joint efforts we will be able to defeat this evil and return to a normal and familiar life for us. I wish you all good health, patience and, most importantly, get vaccinated if you haven’t done it already! Believe in a happy, healthy future! Take care of yourself and your loved ones!
