Kursk State Medical University has successfully completed the procedure of institutional accreditation and assessment of compliance with international standards of the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME). One of the necessary conditions for obtaining it is the maximum possible involvement of students in scientific research.
It was this issue that the meeting of students of the 4th year of the International Medical Institute and the Head of the Laboratory of Experimental Surgery and Oncology, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Vyacheslav Alexandrovich Lipatov, was devoted to on March 3, 2022. Professor Irina Leonidovna Privalova, head of the student research laboratory of the Research Institute of Experimental Medicine, also took part in the meeting.
Vyacheslav Aleksandrovich acquainted students with the latest developments and experimental approbations of the latest methods of diagnosis, treatment and prevention of surgical and oncological diseases conducted in the laboratory of experimental surgery and oncology.
After all, there are plenty of research areas of the laboratory of experimental surgery and oncology – abdominal surgery, vascular surgery, neurosurgery, microencapsulation of drugs, urology, herniology, the development of new suture materials and this is far from a complete list. Students were especially pleased with the opportunity to visit all laboratories of the Research Institute of Experimental Medicine, where they were hospitably invited by the professor V.A. Lipatov.
The report of the professor I.L. Privalova aroused great interest. She told in great detail how students can start their work in the student scientific laboratory, which may become the effective start in their scientific and professional career.
