On April 8, 2022, a delegation of the Embassy of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka in the Russian Federation headed by Her Excellency Professor Janitha A Liyanage, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, visited KSMU.
Within the framework of the visit, the Embassy delegation met with the Rector of KSMU, Honored Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Deputy of the Kursk Regional Duma of the VII convocation, Honorary Citizen of Kursk V.A. Lazarenko, Vice-Rector for Educational Work, Social Development and Public Relations, Associate Professor A.A. Kuznetsova and Director of the International Medical Institute, Associate Professor M.T. Chahine.
Her Excellency Professor Janitha A Liyanage noted the high quality and professional level of foreign student training in accordance with the international standards of education. The Ambassador appreciated the activity of the university staff during the difficult period of the pandemic for the whole world with special gratitude. But, despite all the difficulties, Kursk State Medical University continued to help and support foreign students, paying special attention to them.
The participants of the meeting discussed the prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation between KSMU and the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Russia in the field of increasing the number of students from Sri Lanka, bilateral academic mobility of students and teachers, creation of KSMU branch in Sri Lanka.
