On August 1-2, volunteer unit of Kursk State Medical University together with the Department of General and Bioorganic Chemistry organized first-aid pack making within the framework of the regional volunteer action “We Do Not Leave Our Own” for the Russian military participating in the special operation in Ukraine.
“The idea of forming modernized first-aid packs was born in the process of communication with a group of volunteers who have been in contact with the DPR and LPR military since February,- head of the department of General and Bioorganic Chemistry, Doctor of Pharmaceutical Sciences ELENA VYACHESLAVOVNA BUDKO told. – Volunteers were informed about hemostatic agents (haemostatics). The powder for these purposes has been developed at the department of our university for a long time. Multiple speeches at conferences, approbation by surgeons, animal testing is only a small part of what this scientific discovery went through. We understand what they need in difficult situations: bandages, sponges were bought, and the idea of first aid pack was formed. We intend to continue providing assistance to the Russian military participating in the special operation in Ukraine”.
Thus, the Department of General and Bioorganic Chemistry together with the volunteer unit of Kursk State Medical University formed about 60 first aid dressing packages. They were made by more than15 volunteers of the unit.
“Everyone knows that soldiers of our army suffer losses during the special military operation. When it was proposed to help with the manufacture of first aid packs with hemostatic agents, I immediately agreed, because the task was not so complicated, and the benefits would be enormous. It seems to me that in this way, I was able to show love for my Homeland, help people who sacrifice themselves for the sake of a peaceful sky above our heads” emphasized the student of medical faculty DARIA SENCHENKO.
