On February 09, 2023, during a solemn meeting of the Academic Council dedicated to the 88th anniversary of Kursk State Medical University, Janita Abeyvikrema Liyanage, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, was awarded the title of Honorary Worker of KSMU for fruitful cooperation and assistance in the development of medical education and science of Kursk State Medical University with educational organizations of Sri Lanka. Janita A. Liyanage is an ambassador no only in Russia, but also in the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Moldova, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
