LIFE AS A FEAT

On the eve of Defender of the Fatherland Day, an event “Life as a Feat” was organized and dedicated to the memory of Boris Grigoryevich Shuklin, a Great Patriotic War veteran, a participant of the Battle of Kursk, a graduate of our university, a surgeon who devoted 41 years to his profession. The event was organized by the Department of Physics, Computer Science and Mathematics and the secondary school with in-depth study of individual subjects No. 42 named after B.G. Shuklin.

The school principal Natalia Alekseevna Kovtonyuk told the students of the Medicine Department that Boris Grigorievich was a mentor of the students of school No. 42 and an honored guest of many school events and the school was named after him on December 9, 2019.

Students of school No. 42 presented a report on the life of B.G. Shuklin, his combat fate and his studying at the Kursk Medical Institute. Boris Grigorievich firmly decided to become a doctor after demobilization in 1947. The idea of connecting his life with medicine came to him at the front. The feat of doctors, who, despite the deadly danger, saved the lives of wounded soldiers, impressed B.G. Shuklin very much and he is determined to help the sick, to do everything possible to save people. B.G. Shuklin managed to submit documents to the medical university two days before the end of the admission. He studied at the university with excellent marks and received a diploma with honours. His whole life was connected with surgery. B.G. Shuklin saved not a dozen lives. Boris Grigorievich worked as a surgeon for 41 years after his graduating from the Kursk Medical Institute. He worked 5 years in the Belovsky district and 20 years as the chief surgeon of the Kursk region. Boris Grigorievich was awarded the government award of the Order of the Red Banner of Labor for his labor exploits and services to the country.

The whole life of B.G. Shuklin is a feat, a story of valor, high patriotism and fortitude. The life path of B.G. Shuklin is an example demonstrating what it really means to love your homeland.
