KSMU STUDENTS WERE TOLD ABOUT MEASURES TO PREVENT EXTREMISM AND RULES OF SAFETY ON THE INTERNET

✅On January 22, more than 200 students, including foreign students, gathered in the lecture hall. The meeting was attended by V.A. Lazarenko, Rector of KSMU, A.A. Kuznetsova, Vice-Rector for Educational Work, Social Development and Public Relations, M.T. Chahine, Director of the IMI KSMU, N.N. Matyukhina, senior operative commissioner for counteraction to extremism of the Department of Internal Affairs of Russia in Kursk region, and N.S. Loskutnikov, head of the regional anti-crisis project “Cyberpatrol”.

✅Viktor Anatolievich emphasized the border location of the Kursk region: “Unfortunately, the threat of terrorist actions does not lose relevance. Therefore, each of us needs to be extremely vigilant. A serious danger comes from the Internet space. Information aggression in social networks and messengers has become much more acute with the beginning of the SWO, it is necessary to be aware of the ways and forms of spreading false information by destructive organizations aimed at forming conflict situations”.

✅Legal issues were commented by N.N. Matyukhina, senior operative commissioner for counteraction to extremism of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Kursk region.

✅It is also necessary to avoid participation in discussions of topics calling for mass riots and protests.

✅Students learned about sanctions for offenses and crimes of extremist and terrorist orientation.

✅How to distinguish reliable information from “fakes” was explained by N.S. Loskutnikov, head of the regional anti-crisis project “Cyberpatrol”.
