VISIT TO THE EXHIBITION OF PAINTINGS OF N.K. SHABANOV BY STUDENTS OF IMI
3rd May 2024

On April 26 IMI KSMU students from Malaysia and Nigeria visited the opening of the exhibition dedicated to the memory of the famous Kursk artist and public figure, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Nikolai Konstantinovich Shabanov. The event was attended by the master’s students, applicants and graduates of the Faculty of Art and Graphic Arts, famous Kursk artists, as well as representatives of the city administration.

The students were able to see the paintings of Kursk masters, to touch the concept of “still life painting”. The students were interested in various subjects of paintings, on which it was possible to consider ancient peasant household items, symbols of the great Christian holiday of Easter. The works presented at the exhibition gave the students an opportunity to feel the color of the era, conveyed by the skill and talent of artists. Ancient things depicted in the pictures: spinning wheel, trough, comb, hut, bench aroused the students’ keen interest. With great interest the students looked at the works of artists, painted on paper with watercolor paints. All noted the amazing naturalness of the objects depicted in the paintings.

Attendance of such events is one of the components of socio-cultural adaptation of international students, which allows them to expand their linguistic and local history horizons and enrich their knowledge of famous people of the region where they live and study.
