Today, on the day of 79th anniversary of Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War near the monument to the medical workers who died during the war, which is installed in front of the main building of the University, a memorable event with laying flowers took place, in which the rector of KSMU professor V.A.Lazarenko, pro-rectors of the University, employees and students-activists took part.
Rector of KSMU Prof. V.A.Lazarenko drew attention to the uniqueness of the feat of military medics during the war.
– 22 million wounded were admitted to military hospitals, 17 million returned to the front. This is the main indicator of the work of the entire medical service of the country, behind which there are such sad figures as, for example, the average life expectancy of an orderly on the battlefield – 40 seconds. And, passing to the realities of today, V.A.Lazarenko solemnly handed over badges of Kursk region “Ready for sanitary defense” and corresponding certificates to the members of the volunteer group named after N.I.Pirogov of KSMU.
