The XV Scientific and Practical Conference and Congress of the Russian Phlebologists Association “Topical issues of phlebology” together with the conference “White Nights” and the conference of the Russian Lymphologists Association “Lymph-2024” took place in St. Petersburg on May 23-26, 2024.
During four days leading specialists from practically all regions of Russia, neighboring and foreign countries discussed the most advanced achievements in the field of phlebology. The conference program covered a variety of key topics: from fundamental research on molecular and cellular mechanisms of chronic vein diseases, to research on modern approaches to diagnosis, treatment and prevention of chronic vein diseases, venous thromboembolic complications, pelvic venous diseases, venous trophic ulcers, lymphedema, as well as the issues of hemodynamic surgery of varicose veins and aesthetic aspects in phlebology, combat vascular trauma, legal, administrative and legal aspects in phlebology.
Kursk State Medical University was represented at the Congress by E.A. Bobrovskaya, Professor of the Department of Surgical Diseases of INO. Elena Anatolievna took part in the general meeting and the Congress of delegates of the regional branches of the AFR. In the course of the congress by the results of open voting was unanimously re-elected for a new term as the President of the Association of Phlebologists of Russia Prof. I.A. Suchkov, Vice-rector for scientific work and innovative development of FGBOU VO RyazSMU I.P. Pavlov of the Ministry of Health of Russia.
Within the framework of the conference there was a number of meetings, active discussions, exchange of experience and meetings with colleagues, during which the most urgent issues of modern phlebology were discussed and prospects of scientific cooperation were outlined, which will contribute to the introduction of innovative diagnostic technologies and minimally invasive methods of treatment of vein diseases in practice.
