A MEETING OF THE ACADEMIC COUNCIL WAS HELD AT KSMU

The regular academic council of KSMU was held on April 11. By tradition, the rector of the university, Professor Viktor Anatolyevich Lazarenko, presented awards (honorary employees of KSMU, veterans of KSMU) to university teachers. Among them, the Annual Prize in the field of medical and pharmaceutical education in Russia in the nomination “For the best preparation of a teacing guide” was awarded to Natalia S. Vorotyntseva, MD, PhD, Associate Professor Sergey Stanislavovich Golev for the preparation of a teaching guide “Radiation diagnostics of heart diseases and major vessels”.
The students of the medical university also achieved high results, taking prizes in Olympiads, sports competitions and creative competitions.
KSMU student Team “Kurskmed.com ” on the third place in the team competition in the annual All-Russian Olympiad on practical medical skills among students of medical universities, and Vanina Anna Alexandrovna became the winner in the “Personal Championship”. Stanislav Khlyamov, a 6th-year student of the Faculty of Medicine, received a diploma and second place in the II International Student Online Olympiad of medical Universities “Followers of Avicenna”, held at the Tashkent Medical Academy.
Good news has also been received from the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.
According to the results of voluntary public accreditation by the All-Russian Public Organization “Russian Society for Simulation Training in Medicine”, the Federal Accreditation Center (FAC) of KSMU was awarded the accreditation level of the simulation and certification center of the III (highest) level.
When considering and discussing the issues on the agenda, the Academic Council listened to a report “On the work at KSMU to prevent the spread of extremism and terrorism among young people” by the Vice-rector for Educational Work, Social Development and Public Relations, Associate Professor A. A. Kuznetsova. The topic of the speech has become particularly relevant today, since the so-called “yellow” level of terrorist danger has been introduced in the region since April 11 and the special services of the region have switched to an enhanced mode of operation.
According to Alesya Anatolyevna, the most effective ways to prevent the spread of the ideology of extremism and terrorism among young people is timely diagnosis and preventive work. The condition for effective fight with the ideology of extremism and terrorism in educational organizations is the creation of organizational, methodological, logistical, psychological and pedagogical conditions for a safe educational environment.
The KSMU has developed an action plan for countering the ideology of terrorism for the 2021-2022 academic year; an action plan for establishing levels of terrorist danger. The measures provided in them are fully implemented. Access control is organized, including using electronic access control systems, buildings are constantly checked, as well as potentially dangerous areas and critical elements of University facilities. The technical condition of underground communication systems, parking lots, warehouses is monitored, unauthorized persons and vehicles are not allowed to stay uncontrolled at the facilities, including in the immediate vicinity of the university facilities; university staff are regularly instructed on actions in case of emergencies and the threat of committing a terrorist act; interaction on counter-terrorism issues has been established with the territorial bodies of the FSB, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia and Rosgvardiya; the university facilities are equipped with technical means of voice notification of the threat of a terrorist attack and other emergencies, the facilities are provided with technical means of evacuation, the actions of the teaching staff and students have been worked out in various variants of committing terrorist crimes at the university facilities.
For the purpose of prevention, students are informed about terrorism and extremism both by university staff and with the involvement of law enforcement officials. The work with the teaching staff is conducted that explains measures to identify students who may be exposed to the ideology of extremism and terrorism. The Center for expertise and advanced training of teaching staff of the KSMU INO implemented the DPP PC “Modern technologies for preventing the spread of extremism and terrorism in the youth environment of the university”. Healthy lifestyle is promoted among students, patriotic and moral education events are held, sports and cultural events are held.
The Psychological Center of KSMU carries out a set of measures to identify students exposed to the ideology of extremism and terrorism or who have fallen under its influence, provides them with psychological assistance. The sections of the Comprehensive Plan for Countering the Ideology of Terrorism in the Russian Federation for 2019-2023 recommended for implementation in educational institutions are being implemented in full volume.
The Rector of KSMU informed the members of the Academic Council about the security measures taken in connection with the terrorist threat at the university. Viktor Anatolyevich drew attention to the strict execution of order N96 of April 15, 2022. “On measures to establish a high (“yellow”) level of terrorist danger.”
– Each of us today is required to follow striktly the security measures, coordinated work and vigilance not only in the workplace, but also in public places, – said the rector.
The academic Council also heard the report of the head of the Department of Polyclinic Therapy and General Medical Practice, Associate Professor Nikolay Vyacheslavovich Medvedev, on educational, research and medical work for 2 years. The members of the Academic Council found it satisfactory.
The issues of establishing partnerships with educational organizations in the formation of professional choice of schoolchildren were voiced by the head of the CDPIP INO Svetlana Valeryevna Cherney.
The Academic Council decided to work with the Kursk Education Committee on opening medical classes in partner schools, attracting employees of the graduating departments of small faculties and the medical and pharmaceutical college of KSMU to conduct career guidance events in schools.
