A SEMINAR “PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSISTANCE IN ACUTE STRESS” IN KSMU

On April 2, 2024, the graduating chairs of the Faculty of Clinical Psychology on the initiative of the Dean of the Faculties of Clinical Psychology, Social Work and Economics and Management, Doctor of Psychology, Professor T.D. Vasilenko held a seminar for students of 3-5 courses on the actual topic “Psychological help in acute stress”.

The content of the seminar concerned various aspects of behavior in a situation of acute stress. In particular, the vice-rector for educational work, social work and public relations, head of the Department of Health Psychology and Neuropsychology, Candidate of Psychological Sciences, Associate Professor A.A. Kuznetsova told about the algorithms of providing pre-psychological assistance in various forms of acute stress reaction in extreme situations.

Associate Professor of the Department of General and Clinical Psychology, Candidate of Psychological Sciences, Associate Professor N.V. Smirnov characterized the features of emotional reactions in acute stress. The report of the assistant professor of the Department of General and Clinical Psychology, Candidate of Psychological Sciences, Associate Professor I.N. Zemzyulina touched upon various aspects of work directions depending on reactions to a traumatic situation. Acting Head of the Department of Psychiatry and Psychosomatics, Candidate of Psychological Sciences, Associate Professor Y.V. Bogushevskaya emphasized the varieties of acute stress reactions and typical mistakes in working with them.
