The Victory Day on May 9 is one of the main holidays for our country, the most tragic, but at the same time beautiful and touching. Holding annual educational events dedicated to Victory Day is a tradition of our university, because foreign students of IMI not only study Russian, but also strive to immerse themselves in the culture of our country.
In memory of this great date, IMI teachers and students prepared an online performance about the war, based on the poem by Alexander Tvardovsky “Vasily Terkin”, where excerpts from the well-known work were performed by students from Brazil, Nigeria, South Africa, Sri Lanka, India and Malaysia. In addition, foreign students learned about such a musical instrument as the accordion, heard its sound. It was this musical instrument that brightened up the terrible everyday life of Russian soldiers during the war, with its help the soldier Terkin entertained his fellow soldiers. No one was left indifferent by the dance perfomance by the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Russian Army named after A.V. Alexandrov. Many IMI students took part in the Smuglyanka flash mob, performing a well-known song in Russian and combining their performances into one video. At the end of the performance, the students of the 1MB group addressed the audience with a video congratulation and wished everyone peace and good.
