KSMU JOINED THE CHARTER “DIGITAL ETHICS OF CHILDHOOD”

On the 21th of February, a memorandum of accession to the Charter “Digital Ethics of Childhood” was signed at KSMU, which will allow the University to take part in creating a secure and favorable digital environment for children. It opens up opportunities for their creative and professional self-development, socialization and safe communication.

On the 29th November, 2021, the Alliance for the Protection of Children in the Digital Environment presented the Charter “Digital Ethics of Childhood”, in which there are key principles and practical recommendations for creating a safe and friendly Internet space. Everyone, who is willing, can join the Charter.

The founding companies of the Alliance were the first to join the Charter, these are Gazprom-Media holding, Kaspersky Lab, MegaFon, MTS, VK, National Media Group, Rostelecom and Yandex. Also, the memorandum of accession to the Charter was signed by the editorial director of Rambler & Co Andrey Tsyper as a representative of Sberbank of Russia. Sberbank of Russia became an associate member of the Alliance. Within the framework of cooperation, work will be carried out on joint projects.

One of the tasks of the Alliance is the development of self-regulation mechanisms and the promotion of the principles of social responsibility. The creation of the Charter was the first significant result of the Alliance’s activities in this area.

The Charter is an ethical platform and guide to action for organizations, companies and associations working with children. The “Digital Ethics of Childhood” is based on five main principles: respect for the child as an individual; joint responsibility of all participants for the safety of children in the digital environment; maintaining confidentiality (protection of personal data of children, personal and family secrets); inclusive approach; preservation of value orientations in the online space.
