Poetry is one of the most brilliant achievements of humanity. Its language is understandable to the inhabitant of any corner of the world, it unites different peoples and their cultures, helps humans to become closer to each other.
On March 21, World Poetry Day, within the framework of the Year of Cultural Heritage of the Peoples of Russia, the final round of the open competition of presentations “Poets of My Country” was held in the format of a zoom-conference, where its finalists performed. Thanks to Russian and foreign students of KSMU, who presented their best works, the audience had the opportunity to make a virtual journey into the world of Poetry and get acquainted with the works of poets of Russia, Malaysia, India, Maldives, Brazil, America and Turkmenistan, as well as learn a little about the history of poetry in Malaysia and Maldives.
All participants approached performance and presentation of the works with great enthusiasm. The presentation of the material was both simple and meaningful, fascinating, so that each performance became memorable.
At the end of the event, the winners of the open competition of presentations “Poets of My Country”, held in the framework of the international project “Great and Mighty…” for promoting the Russian language in the world, were announced. The first place was taken by the student of the 2nd year of the IMI KSMU Muhammad Iqbal Bin Rafid (“Malaysian Poetry”), the second place – the student of the 3rd year of the medical faculty of KSMU Talysina Ksenia (“Life and Work of Boris Leonidovich Pasternak”), the third place – the student of the 2nd year of the IMI KSMU Fathimath Maaheen Mohamed (“My Favorite Poet in the Maldives”).
The finalists expressed their gratitude to the Department of the Russian Language and Culture of Speech and Creative Development and Additional Education Center of KSMU for the organization of the presentation contest and the opportunity to tell about those artists who enriched the literature of the past and the present with their works.
