Within the framework of the All-Russian action “Protecting Hearts” at the Kursk municipal hospital No. 1 named after N.S. Korotkova the events aimed at the prevention of cardiovascular diseases took place.
As you know, these diseases are the leading cause of death, claiming 18 million lives worldwide every year.
During the action, medical volunteers of Kursk State Medical University carried out active educational work aimed at the prevention of cardiovascular diseases. They told the visitors of the polyclinic about the risk factors causing hypertension, heart attack, stroke, as well as ways to prevent them, handed out reminders on how to maintain health and avoid fatal complications from cardiovascular diseases.
The volunteers spoke mainly to elderly people who were at risk of heart and vascular disease.
The volunteer action took place within the framework of the long-term regional project “Kursk Longevity”, the purpose of which is to increase the life expectancy of the population, improve the quality of life of older people.
