For a comfortable life in a new place, it is important to get acquainted with the places you visit every day. Therefore, with the aim of adapting to the new socio-cultural environment, the newly arrived Malaysian students of the KSMU International Medical Institute went on an introductory tour of the university.
First, the students were shown the locations of the academic buildings, library departments, reading rooms, cafes, canteen, university administration, leading departments, gym, dental clinic, and the Research Institute of Experimental Medicine.
In the cozy courtyard of the university, they saw the Anatomical Theater, a monument to the “father of medicine” Hippocrates, a memorial sign “Medical Service”, a sculptural composition in honor of St. Luke, a bronze “Student Record Book”, a student square, a reconciliation bench, a monument to the erythrocyte, and an outdoor “Chess Board”. In good weather, there are always many students here!
The continuation of the “great journey” was a trip to the academic building located on Mayakovsky Street. The students were especially impressed by the magnificent space of the reading room, decorated in the form of a large two-story classical office, the walls of which feature portraits of famous Russian medical figures, scenes from world history, paintings by famous Russian artists, as well as thematic panels on various medical topics.
Students noted that the library shelves contain a large amount of literature in English, which will help improve their preparation for lectures and practical classes in their specialty. The presence of modern computers and free Internet access makes this work easy and informative.
“This is the place where time flies very quickly, where you want to come and stay as long as possible!” – the students share their impressions.
The foreign students really liked our university, but this is just the beginning of getting acquainted. New discoveries are ahead!
