LIFE DURING AND AFTER THE PANDEMIC: INTERNATIONAL PERSPECTIVES ON MEDICINE AND HEALTHCARE

On February 26, 2021, at the initiative of rector of Kursk State Medical University professor V.A. Lazarenko, with the participation of the director of the International Medical Institute associate professor M.T. Chahine and the head of the Department of Philosophy professor S.P. Shchavelev there was held the webinar dedicated to the speech of the President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin in Davos and the analysis of human life during the pandemic.

The webinar was attended by IMI students from different countries of the world: Malaysia, India, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Germany, Brazil and Nigeria.

In a language accessible to people being far from politics, associate professor of the Department of Philosophy D.P. Kuznetsov spoke about the Davos World Economic Forum and commented on the main theses of the report of the President of the Russian Federation.

The discussion of topical problems, aggravated during the pandemic, was led by associate professors of the Department of Philosophy: E.B. Zykina and J.G. Simonova.

Students shared their impressions, experiences gained during the restrictions, as the coronavirus pandemic has made adjustments in the lives of people around the world. The students also discussed the positive consequences of the pandemic: the development of technologies for remote work and training, progress in the social sphere and the enhancement of medical and social work prestige.

On the whole, the meeting showed the general interest of students in informal communication of this kind, aimed at discussing the general problems of medicine and the philosophy of the struggle for life.
