The unique festival of creativity among first-year students of Kursk State Medical University, “Look Who Has Come!”, has become a true breath of fresh air for the entire KSMU community. Students and faculty, many of whom now spend most of their week studying, were captivated this Friday evening by the creative achievements of a new wave of students joining the KSMU family.
The final intertwined several “plot intrigues”:
– Who will win and take home the Rector’s Cup?
– Which performances will be deemed the best and how will they sound in the finale?
From the very beginning, one thing was clear: the hosting competition was won by Karina Bobrovskaya and Yegor Lysenko, as they were the first to appear on stage and brilliantly conducted the entire finale. In the prologue, the audience enthusiastically applauded ballerina Angelina Tolmacheva, the “Dance of Fire” by Yegor Izvekov and Yulia Ovsyenko, and a magnificent vocal performance by IMI KSMU students: Sobreira Costa Rocha Guilherme, Adrin Julian, and Ahmad Danish Haikal Bin Abdullah.
After the creative prologue, the festival was officially opened by KSMU Rector Professor V.A. Lazarenko, who sincerely admitted that he watched all the first-year performances with great pleasure and interest. 
– And, what is especially pleasant: it turns out that our “hundred-point students” write poetry, dance, and sing beautifully, – continued the rector. Naming the prominent figures of domestic medicine – KSMU alumni – he concluded his greeting with the words: “Dear colleagues, you have a wonderful future!”
To further affirm his words, Viktor Anatolyevich invited onto the stage the Vice-Rector for Educational Activities and General Affairs, Assoc. Prof. V.P. Gavrilyuk; the Vice-Rector for Educational Work, Social Development, and Public Relations, Assoc. Prof. A.A. Kuznetsova; the Director of IMI KSMU, Assoc. Prof. M.T. Chahine; the Director of MPhC KSMU, Assoc. Prof. I.V. Tolkacheva; the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Pediatrics, Assoc. Prof. A.A. Netyag; and the Dean of the Faculties of Medical Specialties, Biopharmacy, and Clinical Psychology, Assoc. Prof. S.A. Dodonova – practically all graduates of KSMU from different years! 
And here the main intrigue of the finale was resolved! The wonderful multinational team of IMI KSMU received a diploma of the II degree, while the united and assertive team of MPhC KSMU earned the diploma of the I degree.
The biggest surprise was prepared by the festival jury: the “Grand Prix,” the Rector’s Cup, was shared between the teams of both dean’s offices of KSMU – the Dean’s Office of Medicine and Pediatrics and the Dean’s Office of Medical Specialties, Biopharmacy, and Clinical Psychology.
Certificates were also awarded to the winners of the Festival in the categories: “Visual Arts,” “Best Performance of the Festival,” and “Best Post on Social Media.”
The organizers’ intention for the finale was fully realized: upon learning the names of the winners and runners-up at the very beginning, the audience eagerly shifted to the show and warmly welcomed the performances they had already come to love, some of which, by the way, the performers presented in an updated version. The finale was a resounding success!
The audience expressed sincere gratitude to the humble workers who dedicated much effort to the festival – the large team of tutors who ensured that the university celebration not only took place but became the main event of the autumn!
The LHC-2024 festival was dedicated to unity – on this theme, all teams built their programs without prior agreement. Unity for common goals, values, actions, new achievements, and, of course, for peace. KSMU is a large family of students from forty-four countries around the world, from various cities and continents, successfully studying at Kursk State Medical University, boldly planning for the future, and living in peace, friendship, and harmony. This was convincingly demonstrated once again by the festival “Look Who Has Come – 2024”!
