On March 16, 2022, the Rector, Honored Doctor of Russia, Doctor of Medicine Professor Viktor Anatolyevich Lazarenko met with the representatives of the student active core of the International Medical Institute of KSMU.
The meeting was attended by: Vice-Rector for Educational Activity and General Affairs, Associate Professor V.P. Gavrilyuk, Director of the International Medical Institute, Associate Professor M.T. Chahine, students – leaders of communities of India, Sri Lanka, Brazil, Nigeria, Malaysia, Thailand, Maldives, CIS countries, members of the “Health” international club, members of the Student Council on Hostels and IMI staff.
The constructive dialogue between the administration of KSMU and foreign students is an important aspect of the university life. Viktor Anatolyevich elucidated the situation in the country and Kursk, pointing to the calm atmosphere and the possibility of the university transition to the intramural form of study, start of training at medical institutions and university departments. The restrictions associated with the spread of the novel coronavirus infection are gradually being cancelled, as the incidence in Kursk is drastically reduced. The rector also noted the need for senior students to interact and assist in the adaptation of the first year learners. The IMI staff offered to foreign students the possible solution to problems related to the difficult situation of receiving funds from abroad.
Despite the numerous challenges of the modern world, foreign youth was interested in the prospects for the KSMU development, preservation of its status in the world community. At the meeting, the position of Rector V.A. Lazarenko regarding the work of the university and the immediate plans and prospects for further development was clearly indicated.
The participants of the meeting exchanged ideas. Victor Anatolyevich gave convincing explanations on all questions of students, and the active core of foreign students of IMI KSMU was able to find the necessary support, thanking the rector for the meeting.
