11th April 2024

Minister of Health of Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko spoke at the meeting of the Council of Rectors of Medical and Pharmaceutical Universities, where he emphasized that, first of all, the university should help the personal development of a young specialist. The Council of Rectors was held within the framework of the “Week of Medical Education-2024” on the platform of the International Exhibition-Forum “Russia”.

– It is necessary to form in the student the right system of values, responsibility, the desire for self-development and the desire to “give back”. This will make it possible to produce leaders – students, postgraduates, residents, who will be actively involved in the formation of public health, – said Mikhail Murashko.

Mikhail Murashko also noted that mentoring is an element that should be in every university to help first-year students adapt to the new conditions and walls of the university. This work should involve not only senior students, but also practicing doctors, graduates of the university.

The head of the Russian Ministry of Health emphasized that Russia is one of the leaders in medical education and is open to cooperation with foreign countries.
– As for the availability of education in Russia, we have a huge competitive advantage in the quality of training and price/quality ratio, so many foreign students choose our universities. – summarized Mikhail Murashko.
