On December 7, 2022, at 04.30 p.m., an open lecture “Personalized Medicine: Modern Opportunities and Prospects” by Professor Alexei Valerievich Polonikov, Director of the Research Institute of Genetic Molecular Epidemiology of KSMU, will be held in Auditorium No. 1 (the main building).
The lecture will present modern ideas about personalized medicine as a new and promising direction for the development of medicine, focused on effective prevention, early diagnosis and treatment of diseases and based on the individual characteristics of a patient. Modern possibilities of personalized medicine, including its main tools and approaches – genomic and other «-omics» technologies, their possibilities for improving the quality of diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases will be considered. The main problems related to the introduction of the principles of personalized medicine into the daily clinical practice of doctors will also be considered.
