OPENING OF THE MONUMENT TO NIKOLAI SKLIFOSOVSKY

A monument to the Russian surgeon Nikolai Sklifosovsky was installed near the main building of the regional hospital. The event was attended by the governor R.V. Starovoit, Chairman of the Kursk Regional Duma N.I. Zherebilov, Deputy Governor A.V. Belostotsky, Head of Kursk V.N. Karamyshev, representatives of public organizations and the staff of the regional hospital.

The installation of the monument on the territory of the Kursk Regional Hospital is symbolic. Nikolai Vasilievich Sklifosovsky – the founder of medicine, his activity fell on the end of the 19th century. He introduced aseptic and antiseptic methods of treatment into surgical practice, which significantly reduced the postoperative mortality of patients.

Kursk Medical University has many years of experience in cooperation with the Kursk Regional Hospital, on the basis of which the clinical departments of the university are located.

After the opening of the monument, the participants of the event laid an alley of blue fir trees.
