PARTICIPATION OF KSMU RECTOR V.A.LAZARENKO IN PANEL DISCUSSION IN INDIA
12th April 2024

Rector of KSMU, Professor V.A. Lazarenko, took part in the panel discussion “Cooperation between Russia and India in the field of medical education”, which was held on April 11 within the framework of the Russian-Indian Educational Summit. The meeting was opened by Deputy Minister of Health T.V. Semenova, who noted that despite various problems and difficulties, the export of medical education remains at a high level due to cohesion and joint work on training doctors.

Victor Anatolievich made a presentation on export of educational services in KSMU, presenting the results of 30-year experience of the university in this field. He noted that our university prioritizes the training of medical personnel within the framework of “at the bedside” practice, despite the availability of virtual clinic and simulation center of federal level. The rector emphasized that academic exchanges have become one of the main directions due to the possibility of participating in them in a remote format.

A particularly important area in demand in India is the training of mid-level medical workers: nurses in all specialties, paramedics, laboratory diagnostics specialists and others.

The Rector proposed to discuss during the Summit the issue requiring a decision of the Medical Council of India on the possibility of practical training in India for students studying in the Russian Federation, as well as the establishment of the Russian-Indian Association.
