STUDENT SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE “FIRST STEPS IN SCIENCE”
5th October 2022

Dear colleagues, postgraduate students, students!

We invite you to take part in the II All-Russian Student Scientific Conference “First Steps in Science”, dedicated to the World Day of Science for Peace and Development, within the framework of the Year of Cultural Heritage of the Peoples of Russia, established by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation, which will be held on November 22, 2022 at 11-00am at Kursk State Medical University in a hybrid format (the ID of the conference will be announced later).

The “first step” as a slogan means the beginning, the choice of science for those who decided to become a scientist. Why and how do people become scientists? Who can do it easier? Luck and danger along this way. Teachers and students in science, their interaction, their disputes, conflicts. Benefits and losses in life for a scientist. When will the departure of scientists from modern Russia stop?

The focus area of the conference consists of two types of presentations:

theoretical: how do people become scientists? Why do some students or specialists start doing research? What are psychological and social grounds for this choice? Pros and cons of the profession of scientist. Teachers and students in science.

practical: a student’s speech on a particular topic of humanitarian research as one of the first steps in science:

Suggested issues for consideration at the conference:

  • Relevance of the humanities in modern conditions;
  • Personality of a teacher and personality of a student;
  • Modern directions of development of philosophical thought;
  • Topical issues of Russian history;
  • Cultural and religious ideas as an opportunity to understand and accept another;
  • Modern directions of philology development.
  • Bioethics as the ethics of life.

In the discussion on each report, both a meaningful approach (questions on the topic) and a methodological approach (the pros and cons of this step — in science) are possible.

Pre-registration and admission of materials to the conference collection are held until November 1, 2022 on the event website.
