On September 10, Kursk State Medical University hosted the Interregional Scientific and Practical Conference dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Department of Surgical Diseases of the Institute of Continuing Education “MODERN APPROACHES IN TREATMENT OF DISEASES OF THE PERIPHERAL ARTERIES”. The conference was held in a hybrid format.
The purpose of the conference: presentation of modern achievements in the treatment of chronic obliterating diseases of the arteries of the lower extremities, exchange of experience in conducting revascularizing interventions, assessment of the immediate and long-term results of vascular operations, conservative therapy in the treatment of peripheral arterial diseases.
The conference was opened by professor V.A. Lipatov, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovative Development. In his welcoming speech, Vyacheslav Aleksandrovich focused on the importance of the scientific approach and called on young scientists to actively engage in science at the sites of Research Institutes of KSMU. Professor of the Department of Surgical Diseases of ICE, Chief Visiting Surgeon of the Healthcare Committee of the Kursk Region, Deputy Chief Physician for Surgical Work A.L. Loktionov; Professor of the Department of Surgical Diseases of ICE G.A. Bondarev; Head of the Department of Surgical Diseases No. 2, Chairman of the Kursk Regional Public Organization “Scientific and Practical Society of Surgeons” P.M. Nazarenko also addressed the participants with the words of welcome.
The main scientific directions of the conference were:
– Modern approaches to the conservative treatment of chronic obliterating diseases of the arteries of the lower extremities
– Surgical treatment of chronic obliterating diseases of the arteries of the lower extremities
– Issues of extra-anatomical reconstructive operations
– New technologies in the diagnosis and treatment of restenosis after revascularizing surgery
– Approaches to the treatment of reperfusion syndrome
– Innovative approaches in the treatment of obliterating diseases: cell therapy, personalized solutions.
In the report “New Approaches to the Therapy of Peripheral Arterial Diseases”, Professor of the Department of Surgical Diseases of ICE E.A. Bobrovskaya presented the main approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the arteries of the lower extremities, taking into account scientific achievements and national recommendations. The issues of risk factor correction, the choice of a strategy for the management of patients with obliterating diseases of the arteries of the lower extremities were considered, the issues of pharmacotherapy of clinical manifestations of peripheral arterial diseases, new approaches to antithrombotic therapy were highlighted.
R.N. Tereshchenko – Candidate of Medical Science, Head of the Department of Vascular Surgery of Budgetary Healthcare Institution of Oryol region “Oryol Regional Clinical Hospital ORCH”, Chief Visiting Cardiovascular Surgeon of the Healthcare Committee of the Oryol Region, Associate Professor of the Department of General Surgery and Anesthesiology of the Medical Institute of FSBEI HE “Oryol State University named after I.S. Turgenev”(Oryol) presented the report “Surgical Interventions for Obliterating Diseases of the Arteries of the Lower Extremities: Approaches of a Modern Vascular Surgeon”, in which he highlighted modern approaches to revascularization in case of lesions of the aortoiliac and femoral-popliteal arterial segments, shared with colleagues his own experience when the vascular surgeon is also proficient in X-ray endovascular methods of diagnosis and treatment, which makes it possible for a single person to provide assistance to patients.
E.I. Parfenov, Candidate of Medical Science, Cardiovascular Surgeon of the Department of Vascular Surgery of RSBHI “Belgorod Regional Clinical Hospital of St. Joasaph”, Belgorod, shared the experience of treating postischemic lymphostasis in patients who underwent direct revascularization for critical ischemia of the lower extremities.
Innovative approaches in the treatment of obliterating diseases: cell therapy, personalized solutions were presented by colleagues of Kursk State Medical University (S.N. Zhabin, A.Yu. Orlova). The issues of extra-anatomical reconstructive surgeries, the possibilities of X-ray endovascular methods in the diagnosis and treatment of restenosis after revascularizing surgeries were also considered. Professor G.A. Bondarev, B.S. Sukovatykh, E.I. Parfenov, R.N. Tereshchenko took part in the discussion.
