VOLUNTARY VACCINATION AGAINST THE NEW CORONAVIRUS INFECTION. (ADDRESS OF THE RECTOR OF KSMU V. A. LAZARENKO)
20th January 2021

Dear employees!

Today, the main task of society and the health system remains to fight the pandemic of the new coronavirus infection. Only mass vaccination will help contain and overcome the COVID-19 epidemic, and develop the collective immunity necessary in order to control the infection. This vaccination has already been included in the National Vaccination Calendar. On behalf of the President of the Russian Federation V. V. Putin, since 18.01.2021, a mass voluntary vaccination against a new coronavirus infection has started in our country.

Today, vaccination is carried out by the first vaccine registered in the Russian Federation “Sputnik V” (“Gam-Covid-Vak” is produced by the NITSEM under the name of N. F.  Gamalea). The study of the vaccine showed its high effectiveness and safety for various categories of citizens over 18 years of age. It is proven that a two-stage vaccination with Sputnik V will reduce your risk of getting a coronavirus infection by 95%.

More than 20 vaccination centers operate on the territory of the Kursk region. During vaccination, priority is given to medical, educational and social workers. More than 100 employees of our university, including myself, have already been vaccinated against COVID-19. Today, each of us should think and make an informed decision about vaccination, protect ourselves and our loved ones! I urge you to take a responsible approach to making this decision. It is in our power to contribute to achieving control over the COVID-19 pandemic!

All interested employees can make an appointment by sending contact information (full name, date of birth, address of residence, contact phone number) to the Assistant Vice-Rector for Medical Work and Regional Health Development popovani@kursksmu.net Vaccination will be organized on the basis of the Hospital No. 1 (vaccination room, 1st floor).
