2021 is declared to be a year of science and technologies.
The corresponding decree was signed by the president of Russia Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. The Steering Committee for the Year of Science and Technologies was organized with the Vice-Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko and Assistant to President Andrey Fursenko appointed as its co-chairmen. The plan of the main activities is expected to be approved by the end of January 2021, and its realization will start on February 8, the Day of Russian Science.
The head of state highlighted that the novel coronavirus pandemic indicated high significance of science and technology sphere, that is why it deserves special national recognition.
