INTERNATIONAL DAY OF MULTILATERAL DIPLOMACY: RUSSIA – AFRICA

On April 24, 2024 on the International Day of Multilateral Diplomacy for Peace the students of the International Medical Institute of KSMU of African countries organized the event “Russia – Africa” on the basis of the Headquarters of public support of “United Russia” of Kursk region.

Africa is a region with original traditions and history. Kursk State Medical University accepted the first students from Africa, representatives of Morocco in 1993. More than 1000 students of the African region have completed their studies and received a doctor’s diploma at KSMU. The countries of Africa – Egypt, Sudan, Eritrea, Algeria, Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Chad, DR Congo, Ghana, Kenya, Namibia, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Zambia have received today highly qualified doctors, graduates of KSMU. Now 186 students representing Benin, Botswana, Ghana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Zimbabwe, Cameroon, Kenya, Mozambique, Zimbabwe are studying in MMI KSMU. Cameroon, Kenya, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Tanzania, South Africa and Zambia.

The aim of the event was to establish friendly relations and stability between students from different countries in our region. Students from Botswana, Nigeria, Zimbabwe introduced their cultural traditions to students from Russia and different foreign countries from other universities of Kursk. To the rhythms of the African drum, students presented a colorful fashion show, held master classes on plaiting Afro plaits, taught the movements of African national dances, held an active and active cultural event.

During the event a dance battle between students was organized. No one stayed on the sidelines. At the end of the program everyone united in a common circle under the African incendiary music.
