LET’S MAKE THE HEART WORK LIKE A CLOCK!

The action “Protecting the heart” took place on October 4 in the city polyclinic No. 5. Today, the visitors of the polyclinic have received information about the prevention of cardiovascular diseases. To measure blood pressure, saturation level – this opportunity was provided to everyone by medical volunteers.

– We have been cooperating with volunteers from KSMU for a long time, – says G.S. Romanenko, head of the Department of medical prevention of the Kursk City Polyclinic No. 5. – Young, active volunteers help us with organizing events, encourage patients to think seriously about health. Today’s action takes place within the framework of the decade of the elderly, which is celebrated from October 1. Elderly people are at risk for the development of heart and vascular diseases, since obesity, diabetes mellitus, hypertension often accompany age… Therefore, our special attention is paid to them! We invite them for a medical examination. And we are waiting for everyone who has had a coronavirus infection for an in-depth medical examination.

– The action “Protecting the heart” is a set of events not only in polyclinics but also in schools of the regional center – the coordinator of the sanitary and preventive direction of “Medical Volunteers”, fifth-year student Anastasia Gureeva shares her impressions. – In 44 gymnasiums, we organized a quiz for high school students. Topic – healthy lifestyle, risk factors, symptoms, first aid for cardiovascular diseases… But the main work, of course, is carried out in polyclinics directly with patients. Often elderly people do not know how to measure blood pressure and do not know what the saturation level is! We explain everything in detail. Be sure to hand out memos and booklets on the prevention of cardiovascular diseases to everyone. We are sure that our action will definitely save someone’s life!
