On November 8, the International Medical Institute hosted an interesting event organized by teachers and students – the musical and poetic evening “Meeting of Friends”.
Young people who came to the university from different parts of our planet, gathered together to read poems of Russian poets, perform favorite songs and dances. Students from Malaysia, India, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Myanmar, South Africa read poems by Ivan Bunin, Fedor Tyutchev, Sergey Yesenin, Athanasius Fet, Robert Rozhdestvensky, Irina Astakhova. The audience, holding their breath, listened to the works of Russian classics and modern poets. Songs “Grey Night” and “Mirrors” performed by foreigners were filled with new colors, and the famous Russian dance “Kalinka” performed by Tan Zee Wei conquered the hearts of everyone present at the evening, because love for art is an international concept.
Of course, such events help to ensure the socio-cultural adaptation of foreign students to the Russian environment, since most of the participants and spectators of the evening have just arrived in a new country and have just begun to learn its language and culture.
